Privacy Policy
Cosanta Wallet collects nothing. This policy explains exactly what that means — what stays on your device, what the network sees, and what this website does and does not do.
Last updated: September 2026
1. Overview
Cosanta Wallet is designed around a simple principle: collect nothing. This policy explains what little data handling exists in the Software and on this website, and why your privacy is protected by architecture, not just by promises.
There is no account to create, no email address to provide and no identity verification step. The wallet talks directly to the public Cosanta peer-to-peer network, and everything personal lives on your own hardware.
Privacy by design
The strongest privacy guarantee is one that cannot be broken by accident or by a breach: data that was never collected cannot be leaked, sold or subpoenaed.
2. Data we do not collect
The Software and this website do not collect, store or process any of the following:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers or postal addresses
- Government-issued identity documents or verification data
- IP addresses logged against your identity
- Private keys, recovery phrases or spending passwords
- Wallet balances, addresses or transaction history
- Device identifiers used for tracking or advertising
- Analytics, behavioural profiling or session-recording data
The Software contains no advertising networks, no third-party tracking SDKs and no telemetry reporting. There is no server of ours that receives your wallet activity.
3. Data that stays on your device
Your keys, recovery phrase, spending password, transaction history and settings are stored only on your own device, encrypted locally with your password. They are never transmitted to us or to any service operated by us, because no such service exists.
Uninstalling the Software removes this data from the device. Your recovery phrase remains the only way to restore the wallet on another device — keep it safe and offline.
4. Blockchain data
The Cosanta network is a public blockchain. Every transaction you make is recorded publicly and permanently on the network, visible to anyone — a property of all cryptocurrencies and entirely outside our control.
We recommend treating all blockchain activity as public information. Do not reuse addresses if you wish to reduce linkability, and never assume a transaction is private merely because the wallet is non-custodial.
5. Network connections
To synchronize with the network, the Software connects to Cosanta network nodes. As with any internet protocol, the nodes you connect to necessarily see your IP address at the protocol level.
We do not operate logging infrastructure that links these connections to your identity, and no account exists to link them to. If this matters to you, connecting through Tor or a VPN is supported by the nature of the network.
6. This website
cosantawallet.com is a static website. It does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, analytics profiles or fingerprinting. Standard web-server logs may be kept briefly by the hosting provider for security and abuse-prevention purposes; these are technical logs, not behavioural profiles.
7. Downloads and third parties
Wallet builds are distributed from this website and from public repositories. Depending on your platform, package repositories (such as app stores or Linux distribution mirrors) may apply their own privacy policies over which we have no control. We do not receive any information about who downloads the Software.
8. Your rights
Privacy regulations such as the GDPR grant you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability over personal data held by a controller. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is in practice nothing to access, correct or delete — and we consider that the strongest possible exercise of those rights.
If you believe we hold personal data about you despite this policy, contact us at support@cosantawallet.com and we will address it.
9. Children
The Software and this website are not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including minors. If you are under the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, do not use the Software.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes will also be announced through the project's community channels.
11. Contact
